Welcome to Basse Copette

Basse Copette is an old woodcutters’ hamlet situated at the edge of a historic, royal forest in the Bresle Valley, which marks the border between Seine Maritime (Upper Normandy) and the Somme (Picardy). In this tranquil setting, with much to see and do in the vicinity, I offer self catering and B&B accommodation.

My 300 year old farmhouse has been sensitively restored and tastefully decorated with antique furniture and traditional style.

I offer bed and breakfast accommodation in two different suites, one for single occupancy, and another for a couple.

What was the farmyard barn has been professionally renovated resulting in a spacious, self-contained cottage in which I provide self catering accommodation for up to six people. Besides a characterful living room, the cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen.

A large garden, with stunning rural views and a heated swimming pool provides the perfect setting to relax and unwind.

For your midweek or weekend break, special or romantic occasion, out of season or summer holiday, Basse Copette offers you:

  • A tranquil hillside location with a stunning view over rolling countryside
  • A heated pool, from May to September
  • A large garden with different spaces to take in the scenery throughout the day
  • An area rich in history and culture
  • A region well known for its gastronomy
  • A rural location with interesting cities nearby
  • A range of easy day trips, including Paris, Versailles and Bayeux
  • Opportunities for local guided tours

… as previous guests have said:

“You’ll know for yourselves once you have stayed here
just how special a place this really is.”

Basse Copette in autumnMore about Basse Copette, briefly … although in a tranquil rural setting with that truly away-from-it-all feeling, after a short drive through some picturesque rural villages you can be in the biggest cities of northern France, with wonderful shops and restaurants. Basse Copette is situated roughly half way between the cities of Rouen (Normandy) and Amiens (Somme). The Normandy coast is only 40 minutes away, and we are ideally located to make Disneyland, Parc Asterix, World War 1 & 2 memorials, Paris, Monet’s garden memorable days out.

Getting to Basse Copette could not be easier …which is a great relief to many guests and one of the reasons so many return. From the Ferry ports of Le Havre and Calais/Eurotunnel it is only an hour and a half, Boulogne an hour, Dieppe as close as 45 minutes. And only an hour from Paris-Beauvais airport, which is served by low cost airlines, or two hours from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The closest towns are less than 15 minutes away, and the nearest village with a bakery and butcher is just half a mile up the road – perfect for an early morning cycle or jog for the bread and croissants.
