Paris Movie Walks: Ten Guided Tours through the City of Lights! Camera! Action! is a recently published book by Michael Schurmann, that is currently receiving rave reviews. This well researched book offers ten different walks around Paris that will give you a cinematic-inspired view of this great city.
In one of the walks you are taken down the stairway on Rue Chappe where Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron kiss and make up at the end of An American in Paris. You will get to visit Café La Maison where Sabrina is wooed by her French boyfriend. And follow Jason Bourne through the picturesque side streets of Belleville, which were the setting for The Bourne Identity’s great car chase.
And a movie-walk around Paris would be amiss without a few bridges. For example, the Pont de Bir Hakeim was the location of the opening scene in The Last Tango in Paris. There is the Pont de l’Archeveche where man and rat bond in the delightful Ratatouille. Pictured below is the Pont Alexandre III, widely thought to be the most picturesque bridge in Paris, which featured in Ronin and the James Bond movie A View to A Kill, amongst others.
