Getting to Basse Copette

Although in a wonderfully idyllic rural location, Basse Copette really is very easy to find; no matter where you are coming from. And, on arrival many of my guests comment favourably on the directions I supply. One of my first tasks here was to produce perfect directions – my reasoning being if guests get lost that is not a good start to a holiday.

Rural, but easy to find

Rural, but easy to find

The hamlet of Basse Copette is located in the Bresle Valley, which is where 80% of the World’s perfume bottles are made. The Bresle River forms the border between Seine Maritime (Normandy) and the Somme (Picardy).

Basse Copette is more or less halfway between the towns of Aumale (on the A29 – Amiens to Rouen) and Blangy-sur-Bresle (on the A28 – Abbeville to Rouen). Also, Basse Copette is roughly halfway between the cities of Amiens (Picardy) and Rouen (Normandy). It is the proximity to these two Auto-routes (motorways) that makes getting to Basse Copette so easy. Once you are here you can hen get yourself ‘creatively lost’ in the picturesque rural landscape – with many interesting villages and cities nearby.

Because of this rural location, and because public transport does not go all the way to Basse Copette, it is advisable but not essential to have your own car. If during your stay you intend to simply relax with a few walks or cycle rides from the B&B or the gîte, or if you intend to sign up for one of my Tours of Normandy and the Somme, you probably do not need a car and taxi transfers can be arranged for your journey to Basse Copette from Amiens, Beauvais, Calais, Dieppe, Paris, and Rouen.

By car the journey to Basse Copette is about 4/5 hours from London via the tunnel or numerous ferry ports, and under 2 hours from Paris, and the international airports.
