You are not required to sign a contract, but in paying your deposit you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Booking and Payment
To make a reservation please send me an email with details of your request (number of people and dates). I will confirm availability, costs and deposit payment details. The deposit does not include any bank transfer or Paypal charges – these are the responsibility of the guest. I do have a French and a UK bank account, meaning transfers can be made from any Euro/UK bank free of charge. Once your deposit has been paid, I will confirm receipt and your reservation by email. This will be the final acceptance of your booking.
For stays of one or two nights, payment is required in full to secure a reservation; for three nights or more a 50% deposit is payable.
On receipt of your full payment directions to Basse Copette will be forwarded to you. SatNav/GPS coordinates are, however, included in the sidebar to the right of this page, and see also Getting to Basse Copette.
Balance payments can be made at Basse Copette, along with the cost of any meals should you have these. I am afraid I can only accept cash or Euro cheques.
Cancellation
If you require to cancel your reservation with 60 days or more notice, a full refund less a 20 Euros administrative fee will be made. If your notice is less than 60 days, a full refund (less 20 Euros administrative fee, and any other costs, such as discounts, incurred in attempting to re-sell your reserved dates) will be made should the dates you have reserved be re-sold.
I reserve the right to give email notice of cancellation of reservations due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. In the highly unlikely event that this happens, I will either make a full refund and/or suggest or help you find alternative accommodation.
Arrival & Departure
I request that my guests arrive after 4.00 pm and depart no later than 10.00 am. While I do my utmost to accommodate requests for flexibility, within reason, please be mindful that the accommodation does need to be thoroughly cleaned after and before guests’s stays. If you are only able to get a very early flight or ferry, you are more than welcome to come straight to Basse Copette, have a cup of tea or coffee, put your bags down, before returning later.
General
There is no smoking inside the B&B.
For various reasons, I al afraid I can not accept guests with pets.
You and your party agree to be considerate guests and to abide by the house rules and to take good care of the property and its contents. Other than usual wear and tear, guests will be liable for any loss or damage they or their children cause.
You also agree to behave in a way which would not cause disturbance to other guests and people in neighbouring properties.
Children under 18 will not be allowed in the swimming pool area unless accompanied by an adult – at all times and even for the briefest of moments.
You will, without delay, report any aspect of your accommodation or your stay that you are not happy with, as well as any defects to the property or any breakdown of equipment/appliances. Where possible, and as soon as is reasonably possible, repair and replacement will take place and any other matter rectified.
It must be noted, and is a condition of the booking, that all members of the party are deemed to have accepted the above terms and conditions and all take full responsibility for there own well-being, health and safety at all times. The person making the payment shall accept all liabilities for any and all losses, damages or injuries to themselves or any other third parties.
No variation to these conditions or promise of refund of money is valid unless in writing and signed by Thomas Dowson.
