My wife and I have just returned from a short break at Basse Copette. The fact that we have already booked and paid for a further break in September should say it all. For those that need more however, Thomas is a fantastic host and nothing is to much trouble for him, he is a font of knowledge on France and many other subjects. The food is to die for and although he has a menu printed he will cook to request items not on the menu. Peace and quiet is on the menu with solitude and lovely views. We did witness the rush hour one day when two tractors went bye one after another. This place is a gem and I am probably shooting myself in the foot by writing this, but at least we have our week in September booked already.

A particularly colourful entry
I have always enjoyed reading Visitor’s Books. Whenever I have stayed anywhere I have often spent a bit of time browsing previous guests’ comments. Besides offering thoughts on what other people have done in the area, they also provide a unique series of insights into the B&B, hotel or guest house you are staying in, the kind of people that visit.
Now, after seven years of welcoming guests from all over the World to my bed and breakfast and holiday cottage, I am on my fourth Visitor’s Book. I have often said in jest that if I could only save one thing it would be the Visitor’s Books. For me they are an ongoing history of Basse Copette, with each successive guest taking on the writing of the next bit. If I get an enquiry from someone who has not been in a while, and I have (shamefully, well my memory is not what it used to be) forgotten them, I look for their comment in the Visitor’s Book and I can remember their stay as if it were just a few weeks back.
And now, with the advent of the internet and all the wonders it brings, many websites provide guests with the facility to review B&Bs and holiday cottages for the benefit of other guests. On this page then, I not only reproduce the comments from my Visitor’s Books (arranged by year, see below), but there are also links to websites that have reviews of Basse Copette, both from previous B&B and self catering guests.
