Romantic bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation in Normandy, France
“I booked Basse Copette for a surprise treat for mine and my wife’s wedding anniversary, WOW WOW WOW What a surprise for us. And what a treat to such culinary delights. What a magnificent host. I could not have wished for a more magical or enchanting venue. Well done Thomas. Please keep giving us what we want, the way it should be done. Thank you. P.S. we will be back.”
Whether you are looking for a midweek or weekend break with your loved one, or somewhere special to treat someone special, Basse Copette provides a perfect location for a romantic break. There are various options for self catering or B&B holidays in Normandy all year round.
Throughout the year there is much to do and see in this part of Normandy, an area often overlooked as most visitors to France drive through here to get to other more well-known areas. Basse Copette is only an hour and a half from Calais, 2 hours at the most from Paris; so it is relatively quick to get to. Also, being extremely easy to find (perhaps the most common first comment from my guests on arrival – the second being the peace and quiet), in no time you can be enjoying the view from the terrace or reading in front of a roaring log fire.
Set in a natural forest, once the hunting forest for King Louis-Philippe whose castle can still be visited in EU, the small hamlet of Basse Copette provides a striking setting to enjoy a quiet and peaceful holiday. The changing and calming colours of autumn never fail to captivate, and the stark landscape of winter provides a beauty of its own. There is still much to see and do, whether it is walking in the Forest, along the coast – the same coastline that inspired the Impressionist artists, or just relaxing by a roaring fire with a good book. Both B&B and self catering accommodation are available throughout this period, subject to availability.

Spring
Spring is a wonderful time of the year, anywhere. And Basse Copette is no exception. As the stark and striking winter landscape comes alive, enjoy the luxury of B&B accommodation or the independence of self catering accommodation in a sensitively renovated and well appointed old barn. From April towns and villages in the area start hosting their annual festivals, and almost all include a brocante, the French equivalent of a car boot sale. There are always quite a few that can be visited in the area, so if searching for something interesting is what you are after, this is the time to visit. And as the days start to lengthen, there is a lot on offer in the area.

Summer
During the long, wonderful days of summer La Ferme provides the ideal self catering accommodation that is best suited to couples, looking for somewhere smaller but no less comfortable and lacking in facilities. With great views over the rural Bresle Valley, the terrace in front of the private farmhouse ensures a tranquil setting for meals from dawn to dusk. The farmhouse has two ensuite rooms (one with a bath, one with a shower), a well equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher) and a very comfortable lounge and dining room with great antique furniture. The perfect base from which to explore all that Upper Normandy and the Somme has to offer.
Summer activities to be enjoyed while holidaying at Basse Copette
At Basse Copette you can choose bed and breakfast accommodation, and have meals provided or eat out at some very good local restaurants. You can also be more independent and take self catering accommodation, buy wonderful fresh produce from a variety of local markets and prepare your own feasts in the well-equipped barn to enjoy by a roaring fire. Whatever you choose, at Basse Copette you can be assured of a warm welcome, great food and accommodation, lots of interesting things to do to suite all tastes and interests, but above all … peace and quiet, and a relaxing stay.
“Well, we said we would come back to see you for our 1st wedding Anniversary and how glad we are we did. Thank you for such a lovely stay. We look forward to seeing you next year.”
