Autumn in Normandy, France …
Luxury B&B or self catering cottage at Basse Copette

Autumn at Basse Copette
During November come and relax amongst the changing and calming colours of autumn. The weather is still warm enough for outdoor activities such as golf or horse-riding. Or you can catch the train into Paris for the day.
Arrive at Basse Copette mid afternoon to a seasonal welcome of freshly homemade apple tart and tea/coffee. For one of your evenings enjoy a gourmet meal, sampling the culinary delights of Normandy—with a variety of choices to suit every taste. The meal begins at the fireside with a local cocktail, Kia Normande, and canapés. A typical menu is as follows:
foie gras sautée with Basse Copette apples
pumpkin soup
duck breast seared in a honey, lavender & lemon jus
local Normandy cheese with autumn chutney
chocolate mouse & brandy soaked plum
Round off your meal with tea or coffee and petit fours back at the fireside.
Have an early start and a continental breakfast, and then head out for the day. There is so much in the area to choose from it is impossible to list all the options – your host will be happy to advise – but there is Monet’s house and gardens, and a great collection of impressionist paintings in the Rouen art gallery. And of course there are the ubiquitous cathedrals, chateaux, shops and fine restaurants! Or you can lay in bed for an extra hour or two and start the day later with brunch: grapefruit and bucks fizz, fresh croissants and homemade jams, eggs Benedict or salmon fumée & scrambled eggs, tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
